Weekly Summer Email
July 5th – 9th, 2021

We had fun learning a thing or two about our home state of Virginia this week! Students did crafts and learned about famous Virginians, and our students in grades 1 and above took a field trip to Rippon Lodge, the oldest remaining house in Prince William County, to learn about life in 18th-century Virginia.  Students watched demonstrations of household chores, and spun some wool themselves.

Next week is Sports Week at camp, and students will get to try out a variety of sports on our field and in our gym. They may also wear jerseys from their favorite team if they like! Wednesday, students in grades 1 and above will go mini-golfing at Locust Shade Park! Please be sure students wear their camp shirts on Wednesday (new students will receive one the day of the trip) and have water bottles and sunblock with them.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Below you’ll find some important information about our Summer Enrichment Program:

According to VA regulations, all children ages 5 and up must wear a mask at school and camp. Teachers and school staff must also wear a mask at all times indoors, regardless of vaccination status. We ask that you send your children to school and camp wearing a mask, and with an extra in their bag.

Drop off time for preschool remains the same as always–8:30 am. However, preschoolers may now be dropped off at the front door! Pickup time is 3:00 pm, also at the front door.

Drop off for our elementary and middle campers is at 9 am at the side door. You’ll see an attendant there between 8:55 and 9:15 am. Pickup for our campers is 4:00 pm. After 4:15, we close the door and late campers go to after care. After care campers may be picked up at the front door, or from the playground if they are outside.

Each morning, our elementary and middle students will work on enrichment and advancement in language arts and math. In the afternoons, we’ll have water play (every Monday for elementary, Wednesday for preschool) and field trips (grades 1 and above), arts and crafts, cooking projects, and lots of fun on our playground and in our gym. Our preschoolers will also follow our themes, and will have water days as well. You child’s teacher will let you know which days those will be.

Our camp calendars will be included in the email each week. Please note that activities and field trips are subject to change, depending on weather and health conditions.

Each week, you’ll find our lunch menu below, as well as our lunch packet. Lunches should be purchased in advance, and may be purchased in quantities from 10 lunches to the full month. For elementary and middle students, tuition is due each Monday for the week, and lunches may be paid at that time as well. Payment can be made through automatic withdrawal or by check or credit/debit card.

Mondays are Water Play Days for our campers in Kinder-middle school! Please be sure to send them to school with a bathing suit, towel, and shoes that can get wet. Don’t forget to include a wet bag to send their items home in! Please label all items with your child’s name.

Preschoolers (ages 2-4) will have their water play day on Wednesday.
