Happy October, everyone! The weather stayed warm enough for us to pull a few more goodies out of the garden–including the tomatoes and basil that went into Chef Veronica’s amazing pasta sauce! The kids loved having this homemade treat on the menu today.
Cooler weather is here, and this means students may wish to keep sweaters at school. In the preschool, parents should swap out summer clothes for fall ones in their child’s bins.
And speaking of clothes–have you checked out our uniform exchange lately? We have quite a few items there, and a whole lot of Jr K-sized uniforms. Have a look–you’ll find it in the front hallway, near the elementary wing.
Our fall festival is coming up on Oct. 25th, so look for info in the coming weeks. We always rely on parent volunteers to help us run the stations and make the event lots of fun for the students!
Extracurriculars have started or are about to get underway. Please see below. Also note the Young Entrepreneurs workshop that will take place on Thursday, October 10th from 4-6 pm in the cafeteria. It’s a wonderful opportunity for students 9-13 years old to learn about what it takes to start and run a business. We hope to see you there!

The PTC has planned our first PWA Spirit Night Fundraiser of the school year! Stop by and order some food at the Paisano’s Pizza in Dillingham Sq. any time between 11 am and 10 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 9th and PWA will receive 20% of the cost of your order! Just bring the flyer below, or mention Prince William Academy to your cashier.
All proceeds benefit the PTC’s ongoing technology initiative (which provided the school with three new laptops for classrooms from last year’s spirit nights!). So come out and show your support!
Some of our after school activities have been postponed to allow for more enrollment. If you’re interested in having your child participate in one of these fun activities, now is the time to sign up! Below you’ll find flyers for the following:

On Thursday, October 10, Innovate FunBiz Academy will host an amazing two-hour workshop for kids ages 9 to 13 that will teach them the basics of business! Students will design, build, and then market, their own airplanes, and talk about what it takes to launch a product from start to finish. Please see the flyer below. The cost is $35 for the two-hour workshop, which runs from 4-6 pm. Please feel free to share this event with friends from outside PWA!

Parents are encouraged to purchase lunch packets rather than single lunches–the price per lunch drops when you buy more at a time. If you want to purchase daily lunch for your child, the total cost is $80 per month.
