Week 11

We had such a fun and eventful week at PWA! On Wednesday we held our Principal’s Scholar Awards for Compassion. Congratulations to all our recipients! Last night was PWA’s first-ever Trunk-n-Treat Spooktacular, put together by the PTC. It was a blast! Sincere thanks to the parents and teachers who decorated their trunks and made it such an enjoyable event for our students and their families. Thanks, too, to all the families who came out and joined us. All the trunks were great, but we’ve selected three for prizes donated by PTC members.

Remember that Monday, November 1st is a teacher workday, and we will be closed entirely for school and childcare. We will reopen as usual on Tuesday. Teachers will begin holding virtual parent/teacher conferences on Monday, and these will continue through the week. You’ll receive further information from your child’s teacher.

Today we held our annual Fall Festival, and had a lot of fun. We were hoping to hold the event outdoors, but the weather didn’t cooperate. Thankfully, we made it all work indoors, and kids enjoyed a dance party with our music teacher Mr. Ebenezer, and pumpkin bowling and poke-a-pumpkin with our Spanish teacher, Ms. Nuria. We set the moonbounce up in the gym, along with a beautiful pumpkin patch (thoughtfully put together by the Abruzzo-Davis family). Whether they wore a costume or not, the kids had fun!

It’s hard to believe, but today was also the final day of the first grading period of the 2021-2022 school year. Report cards will be available via Chalkable starting Friday, November 5th. For those of you who are new to the school, we will provide you with login information so that you can view your child’s report card. If you’ve forgotten your chalk table login, just send an email to the office and we’ll provide it.

We wish those of you celebrating a safe and happy Halloween! Have a wonderful weekend, PWA families!

Friendly reminder that Monday, November 1st is a Teacher Workday, and we will be closed for school, preschool, and childcare. We look forward to seeing you Tuesday. Enjoy the long weekend!

Our 2021-2022 School Calendar can always be found below. Please note that it is subject to changes and updates on occasion, so be sure to open the most recent version when you go looking for it!

School picture day will be Monday, November 22nd!  Candid Color will take individual, sibling, and class photos in the gym. Picture packages will be available for online purchase promptly after the event and will be delivered to school before the winter break.

Thanks for coming out to our PTC’s Trunk-n-Treat Spooktacular Event! We raised $340 to put towards future PTC initiatives and had a lot of fun. All the decorated trunks were spooktacular! Prizes donated by the PTC’s Bree Wessel and Michele Davis go to our winners for their innovative, spooky, and fun designs:

1st Place: The Plummer Family

2nd Place: The Stewart Family

3rd Place: The Green Family
