Week 10
This week we enjoyed watching the leaves change around the school as we all reveled in the beautiful weather. Fall is in full swing–and that means our Fall Festival and Halloween are right around the corner!
Next Friday, October 29th, we’ll have our fall festival at school for students. Thanks to those parents who have volunteered to assist with our outdoor events. Students will enjoy a pumpkin patch and pumpkin painting; hand painting; pumpkin ring toss; relay races, and more. Our Fall Festival is always a good time! Students may come to school in their costumes.
Following our Fall Festival at 5:30 our Trunk-n-Treat event gets underway in the school parking lot! We’ll send out more specific information this week, but parents can sign up to decorate the trunk of their car and hand out candy to our trunk-n-treaters. You’ll find more information below on how to participate. And if you don’t want to decorate your trunk, that’s fine, too! You’re welcome to bring the family by for a fun, socially-distanced event between 5:30 and 7:30.
This week we held two Covid testing events, one of which was prompted by a potential exposure in an elementary classroom. Thankfully, parents acted quickly to register, and we were able to test the children in that room and have results back in two days (all negative!). This meant students only had to learn online for two days and we didn’t have to wait for results to come in one at a time, which would have resulted in a longer closure. When we learn of potential exposure, all kids in the affected classroom have to be tested before they can return to school. Our program is an easy (and free) way to have it done–since it will have to be done somewhere–and results in less time out of the classroom. You’ll find the link to sign up below.
