Week 7

Big thanks to school parent Jennifer Leopold, who so generously keeps our gardens looking colorful and beautiful!

We enjoyed a beautiful week here at PWA, with near-perfect weather and lots of opportunities to get outside and look for signs of Fall.

We enjoyed a lovely evening outside with parents, too, at our first PTC meeting of the year. The turnout was great, and we’re excited to have parents from all parts of the school joining us. We discussed fundraisers, and the upcoming Fall Festival, which takes place every year at the end of October. We’ll be putting out the call for volunteers later this month to help us set up and oversee different stations for our students to visit during the event. We also discussed a special Halloween activity–more info to come, so stay tuned! We’re really excited to restart our PTC. It’s a great way to get involved with the school and help us do more for our students and staff!

Our new Covid testing program is getting underway, and consent forms will be sent out next week. It is not mandatory to participate, but it will be helpful for all of us, especially if a situation arises that requires everyone in a classroom to be tested. These tests will be free, and we are aiming to conduct them weekly and on an as-needed basis. They’ll be a huge help in keeping the school open and our kids in school.

We also ask that you please remember to wear your own mask at all times during pick-up and drop-off and that your children wear their masks when they enter the school. We all have to do our part to keep each other safe and healthy, especially with flu season approaching.

Have a wonderful weekend, PWA families!

Our 2021-2022 School Calendar can always be found below. Please note that it is subject to changes and updates on occasion, so be sure to open the most recent version when you go looking for it!

This month, we’ll start conducting free Covid-19 testing at school! We have a wonderful parent volunteer, Jeniffer Reis, who will assist us in providing tests for children under 3; our staff will conduct the testing for children 3 and over. We will send out consent forms starting next week; it is not mandatory to participate, and we do not plan to test everyone every week. But as long as we have a consent form on file, we’re able to test as needed and to do occasional classroom checks. Please be on the lookout next week for an email regarding consent forms and information on how results are collected and made available.

We held our first PTC meeting of the year, and we were delighted by the turnout. We had parents joining from all segments of the school, and everyone shared great ideas for fundraisers and events that the kids will love. Our next meeting will be on October 28th, and we hope to see you there!

Please ensure that you and your child are wearing masks at drop-off!

Our current lunch menu and lunch packets can always be found in the buttons directly below.

Lunches should be purchased in advance, by lunch packets, or by opting in to our daily lunch program. You’ll find lunch packets in the buttons below.

All our school lunches are made with love in our school kitchen by Chef Veronica.

Students will eat in their classrooms instead of the cafeteria until further notice.

If you send your child to school with lunch, please remember that we are an entirely nut-free school.
