The trees around the school are looking lovely!
We had a lovely week here at school, with a last hurrah from summer followed by beautiful, cooler days. Our students have spent most of their recesses outside enjoying the fresh air, playing tag, and running free.
We will hold our Fall Festival on October 25th, and will soon put signup sheets in the front office for parents to volunteer to donate healthy snacks, and help run our various stations (including a bouncy house, pumpkin patch, face painting, and more!).
Don’t forget: Monday is a Professional Development Day for our teachers, and we will be closed for regular school and preschool. Childcare will be available; fees may apply, so please check below for more details.

Please remember that Monday is a Professional Development Day for our teachers. School and preschool will be closed for regular operations, but we will have childcare available for all ages. Fees may apply as follows:
* Students who are enrolled in before AND aftercare: no charge
* Students who are enrolled in EITHER before OR aftercare: $35 per day
* Students not enrolled in extended care: $50 per day

School photo day is coming! School pictures will be taken on Wednesday, October 30th. Students should wear their school uniforms. Order forms will go home next week, to be filled out and returned to school.
Are your child’s immunizations up-to-date? Please remember to bring us an updated copy of your child’s vaccination record every time they receive a new shot or booster. Children under two must have an updated vaccination record once every 6 months. After age 2, we require proof of updated vaccinations once between the ages of 4 and 6, and each time they receive a new vaccination or booster.

Thanks to all of you who came out to Paisano’s Pizza on Wednesday! PWA will receive over $100 from the orders placed by PWA families! Every bit counts, and we appreciate your participation.
Our PTC Yankee Candle Fundraiser is back! This was our best fundraiser last year, and we hope to top last year’s totals this time around. You will have received order forms that you can use to place your own orders, or get orders from friends and family members in support of our school. Those forms should be returned to your child’s teacher or the front office by November 8th. Please make checks payable to “Prince William Academy.” Items will be shipped to the school for distribution before the holidays.

French Club is back! Students from 2nd – 8th grade can join Ruth Dale after school on Wednesdays for songs, vocabulary, and games to help them learn the beautiful language of French. The club runs from October 15th – December 3rd from 4:00 – 4:45 pm each Wednesday. The cost is $99 for 8 lessons.

Pure Beings–Recipe of the Month
As part of our school’s ongoing effort to promote good health and a holistic approach to our students’ well-being, we’ll be working with PWA mom and entrepreneur Samar Omeish and her project, Pure Beings. We’ll regularly feature recipes, advice, nutritional information, and more from Samar here in our newsletter. She’ll also be coming to the school to help the students learn more about nutrition and health!
This month’s recipe is for Pumpkin Mousse. Seasonal and delicious!
1 can of pumpkin
3 cans of coconut milk, unsweetened
1/2 cup of honey
1 tbsp of vanilla extract
2 1/2 tbsp of pumpkin spice
1/4 tsp of salt

Parents are encouraged to purchase lunch packets rather than single lunches–the price per lunch drops when you buy more at a time. If you want to purchase daily lunch for your child, the total cost is $80 per month.
Spotted at school this week…
Sweet babies..train time…self-guided play…egg parachutes in science class…kindergarten researchers…beautiful days outside…flag football and bingo…happy first graders…Jr K learning about the world.
The three amigas: our fabulous bookkeeper, admissions director, and office manager. They’re so in sync, they even dress alike! We’re very thankful to have such a great team.
