Week 23
We had a great week here at PWA! Our middle and elementary students hosted a bake sale to help Australian wildlife, and not only was it a big success, but they had a wonderful time putting it together. Students have also been finishing up classwork and projects in preparation for the end of the grading period. Report cards will be available by 5 pm on Friday, January 31st on Chalkable.
Next week will be busy, with our 100th day of school on Thursday, January 30th, and International Day on the 31st. Teachers will let you know what times their classes will give presentations, and when they’ll visit other “countries.” Parents are welcome to join in all the festivities!
Our early registration promotion is in effect until next Friday, January 31st. If you register for the upcoming school year by then, you’ll receive 50% off registration fees. You’ll also be helping us to plan for the 2020-2021 school year!
Our PTC used funds from their Technology Drive to purchase new laptops for classrooms this week. Please see below for more details. We’re very grateful to the PTC for the work they do, and to our families for the contributions they’ve made to this initiative.
Please don’t forget that Monday (Jan. 27th) is a Teacher Workday, and we’ll be closed for regular school. Childcare will be available.
Have a wonderful weekend, PWA families!
Please sign up to receive texts from PWA regarding inclement weather or changes to our regular schedule. Please note: this is NOT the same list we had last school year. You must sign up for THIS list to receive our texts.

Monday, January 27th is a Teacher Workday. School will be closed, but childcare will be available.
This month, our PTC purchased THREE laptops for our classrooms with funds from their ongoing Technology Drive. That means every time you attended a Spirit Night at a local restaurant or participated in one of our fundraisers, you contributed towards the purchase of these computers. So thank you, PTC! And thank YOU, PWA families!
3s teacher Mrs. Khan received her classroom’s new laptop today, and she was so pleased.
Our middle school students, with help from our 4th and 5th graders, planned, organized, and hosted a bake sale on Thursday. The students raised money to contribute towards wildlife suffering from the devastating fires in Australia. The students raised over $250, and will donate it next week to a reputable charity of their choosing. We’re so proud of our compassionate, kind students for practicing good global citizenship. We were also impressed by their entrepreneurial skills! Way to go, students!
