Week 6
September 28th, 2018
What a lovely Friday! After loads of rain this week, and weather of all varieties, it’s finally sunny and pleasant again. Fall is here, leaves are dropping, and the kids aren’t sure whether to wear short or long sleeves each day. You can help them out by making sure to send a sweater with them, just in case, and swapping out their extra clothes in the preschool for warmer items.
Warm wishes to our own Ms. Ruth and Ms. Saira, who celebrated birthdays this week!
The PTC is planning to put together a raffle basket full of local products and fun items donated by parents. Tickets will be three for five dollars, and proceeds will go towards technology in the classrooms at PWA.
If you have a product, gift certificate, or other interesting item to donate to our raffle basket, please contact Dr. Nykwest at rnykwest@princewilliamacademy.com. This is a great way to advertise your business while helping the school!
The raffle drawing will take place at our Fall Festival on Oct. 26th. We’ll let you know when raffle tickets go on sale!
We are looking for volunteers for our Fall Festival on October 26th. We need parents to run stations and special activities for the kids, and to man the food tables. If you’re interested, please look for a sign up sheet in the front office early next week.
Thanks very much to our local fire department for helping us with our impromptu fire drill this week! It sure is handy to have such great neighbors.
School Picture Day is scheduled for Monday, October 29th! Students and staff members will have their pictures taken that day.
Makeups, retakes, class photos, sibling photos, and our school photo will be Tuesday, November 13th.
Note: Students who attend only on T/TH in the preschool may have their photo taken that day, or make arrangements to come in on the 29th of October. There will be no makeups possible after November 13th!
More information will come home soon in your child’s backpack.
Weekly Class Updates
Big thanks to Stephanie Hale, our 4th grade student teacher, who has completed the first part of her teaching practicum. We wish her luck on her exams, and look forward to seeing her again when she returns to us in January!
Thanks to all the parents who came out for back-to-school night!
We’d like to send warm wishes to the Jurgens family, as they head off on deployment to England. We’ll miss you! Please stay in touch.
What a fun week! We welcomed new friends (Ryleigh!) and new teachers (Ms. Nadia!). We had a birthday (Joshua!), which means our friend will move upstairs to the preschool. We also said goodbye to some of our friends, who are moving to far-off places with their parents. We’ll miss you, Stuhrling and Bella!
