We had a busy, fun week at PWA. It was Teacher Appreciation Week, and our teachers received lots of gifts, flowers, cards, food, and words of encouragement. Thank you, parents, for your generosity, and for giving special recognition to the teachers who work with your children.
We capped off the week with our Mother’s Day Tea today, for Jr K and up, and a reception for our 2s and 3s in the preschool wing. Big thanks to the fabulous Ms. Noh for coordinating the event’s songs and working with the students to learn them, and to Ms. Veronica for putting together a lovely spread. Thanks also to our wonderful PTC, who provided lovely keepsakes for the moms in attendance.
Next week some of our elementary classes will begin assessment testing; please refer to your child’s individual teacher for more details. And remember that during testing, it’s important for students to arrive on time to school, and for them to be well-rested.
We’d like to wish our PWA moms and grandmothers a truly happy Mother’s Day. We’re honored to have you as part of our school!
Thank you so much to the parents who helped us celebrate Teacher Appreciation week with donations of food, and funds for supplies. Special thanks to the Mathur family for donating an amazing catered lunch from their restaurant, Taste of Tandoor, and to Atoussa Farrough for her generous donation of salads from Panera. And thanks also to our PTC for organizing the themes and donating time and supplies.
We love our teachers, and it warms our hearts to know that you do, too!

We are delighted to share the news that PWA Kindergartner Devyn Goddard is now a published author! Devyn’s book, If My Family Lived in the Ocean, is available on Amazon. We’ll also have copies available during our upcoming book fair! We’re so proud of Devyn–for her confidence, and her brilliant imagination! Way to go, Goddard Family!
Enrollment for our Summer Program is now underway! Our students (grades Jr K – 8th) focus on math and language arts enrichment in the mornings, and terrific camp activities in the afternoon. The program includes field trips, swimming, Fantasy Park, putt-putt, bowling, and fun weekly themes. This year, we’ll also have an art camp available with our own Ms. Cox!
