March 8th, 2019
Happy International Women’s Day! This week, we honored the women in our lives, as well as those who have worked to improve the lives of others. Our students wrote about their mothers, and did art projects celebrating the women that inspire them.
Today, we’d also like to take a moment to honor the amazing women of PWA, who enrich our children’s lives in immeasurable ways, feeding their growing minds and planting the seeds of the great things they’ll do in the future. Thank you, teachers and staff members. We love and celebrate you–today, and every day!
We had loads of fun around here celebrating Read Across America week. See below for photos of pajama day, twin day, and crazy sock day! Big thanks go to all the parents who shared books, and came in to read to the students this week.
Next week, our students K-8 will take a field trip to the Apple store in Stonebridge. Our K-2 students will get to try their hands at drawing apps, while our 3rd- 8th graders will take a coding class.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone. Let’s hope this is the last of the snow!
The enrollment period for Girls on the Run will be open until March 11, and we need several more students to complete the team. Please consider enrolling your daughters from grades 3-7! The goal is to help girls become strong, confident, and healthy. Friends and sisters who don’t attend PWA can also join our team, so if you know someone who might be interested, please spread the word!

Don’t forget: the Spelling Bee Club paper test is this Monday, March 11th, at school!
Our Krispy Kreme fundraiser was a big success–we raised $359! Thanks to all of you who participated in this, and in other fundraisers. Our fundraising total to date is $2,293.24.
We hope you’ve noticed the PTC board up by the front desk. We’ll place announcements and news there. Our next meeting is scheduled for March 14th at 5:30 pm. We hope you’ll join us!
Come get your pancake on! On March 23rd, the PTC is hosting a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser here at the school! The breakfast starts at 9:30 am, and will happen in the gym. A plate is just $5, so bring the whole family!

Our annual Spring Concert is coming this month! On March 28th, students Jr K and up will perform songs they’ve been working on in music class with Ms. Noh. The Jr K and K will go on at 4 pm, and 1st – 8th will perform at 5 pm. Stay tuned for more details!
