Weekly PWA Family Email
Week 26
February 15th, 2019
We had another busy week here, playing catch-up after bad weather and school delays.
Our Spelling Bee Club is in full swing on the elementary and middle school side, and students have been working after school to learn the words. Thanks to the parents who have donated snacks and pizza!
We’re also celebrating Black History Month in our classrooms. Several elementary classes watched a documentary about Ruby Bridges, the first African American to integrate an all-white school in New Orleans. The fourth grade students wrote about what they learned afterwards.
We celebrated Valentine’s Day here this week, with small in-class celebrations and a few treats here and there. Big thanks to all the parents who brought in items for classrooms, teachers, and office staff.
On Monday, we will be closed for school and child care in observance of Presidents’ Day. Enjoy the three-day weekend!
It’s Science Fair Season at PWA! The students are in the planning stages now (grades 2-8). Each week, we’ll be sure to keep informed about the process.
Tuesday, each student should have a project in mind, and be prepared to describe it to their teacher.
One more week to go to help us raise some dough!
Help the PTC raise funds for our technology initiative.
Monday, February 11th – Friday, February 22nd
Flyers went home in backpacks last week–you can drop your orders off with your child’s teacher, or at the front desk.
Doughnuts are $10/box, cash only, and will be delivered to the school February 28th for afternoon pickup.
Please be sure to sign your child in and out every day!
