Week 25
February 8th, 2019
International Day was so much fun–it’s truly one of our favorite days of the year! The performances and presentations by the kids were a delight to watch, so kudos to our teachers and students for all the learning they engaged in this month to prepare. Heartfelt thanks go to all the parents and teachers who cooked and ordered food for their classrooms. It was fun to see the kids try new foods, and I know the entire staff really appreciated the international smorgasbord! Overall, it was a fabulous day. Check out the pictures below!
We also celebrated our 100th day of school this week, though we kept it low-key. Our K-2 classes observed our annual tradition of dressing up as centenarians, and had us smiling all day.
Next week, the Science Fair season gets underway for our elementary and middle students. Letters went home in backpacks today, and teachers will provide packets with details about project expectations, deadlines, and more. The Science Fair will be held on April 12th.
Our preschoolers this week got to enjoy lots of time outdoors–even our toddlers had a chance to play outside! What a welcome change from the week before.
Have a wonderful weekend, PWA families!
The Parent-Teacher Committee is putting on another fundraiser for our technology initiative!
Help us raise some dough!
Monday, February 11th – Friday, February 22nd
Look out for more information next week! Flyers will come home next week.
Donuts will be $10/box, cash only, and will be delivered to the school February 28th for afternoon pickup. See the front office to make a purchase!
Valentine’s Day is next week! Students may exchange valentines (if their classroom teacher has planned for it), and should remember that our rule at school is that if they’re going to give out valentines, they must give one to every child in their class.
Hurray for International Day! All the classrooms participated, and represented countries around the globe. It was so much fun, and we can’t wait to do it again next year
Starting in March, Girls on the Run will put together a team of runners, from grades 3-7. The goal is to help girls become strong, confident, and healthy.
Sign up by visiting the link in the flyer below. Practices will begin March 4th, and will be Mondays and Thursdays from 3:45 until 5 pm here at school. Students must register in advance to get the team started.
French Club has started up for the year, and meets Tuesdays from 3:30 – 4:15. Students from grades 2 – 5 are welcome to join. The club, taught by our own Ms. Ruth, will run for 8 weeks from February 5th until April 2nd, at a cost of $99.00.
