Weekly PWA Family Email
Week 16
December 7th, 2018
We had a busy week here, with lots of learning going on. Our upper grades watched the funeral procession for George H.W. Bush, and learned important lessons about American traditions and ceremonies, while paying respect to our 41st President.
Our elementary and middle students worked on book reports, projects, and more this week.
Our preschoolers have been busy working on their songs for their Winter Concert on Dec. 13th! See below for more information.
Have a wonderful weekend, and stay warm!
Our Yankee Candle orders arrived this afternoon! If you placed an order, please stop by the office to pick it up on Monday.
Our fundraiser continues until January, so there’s still time to shop online. Just visit
www.yankeecandlefundraising.com (http://www.yankeecandlefundraising.com/) , put in our code of 999987485, and start shopping!
BRING A LITTLE HOLIDAY CHEER TO OUR TEACHERS AND STAFF THIS SEASON!
The PTC is putting together a special show of appreciation for our teachers this holiday season, and we need your help.
We ask that you please contribute a gift card from any establishment, online or otherwise, for us to put on our teachers’ gift tree this year. At our teacher appreciation breakfast on December 19th, the teachers will get to select the gift cards of their choice from the tree.
We ask that all gift cards be in the amount of $10. You may purchase more than one, but as long as each card is worth $10 we’ll be able to distribute them equitably. You may of course provide a separate personal gift for your child’s classroom teacher.
Thanks for helping us show our teachers how much they mean to us, and how much we value the work they do! Cards may be dropped off in the bucket at the front desk.
Friday, Dec. 14th is Ugly Sweater Day! Send the kids in their campiest, ugliest sweaters!
Thanks to all of the PWA families who joined us at Chipotle for our fundraiser this week! We raised just under $200–but at 33% of the total sales, that’s a lot of Chipotle! And it was a treat to see so many familiar faces outside the school.
Spotted at school this week…..
Movie night! The older kids watched Christopher Robin, the 4-6 year olds watched Paddington 2, and the 2s and 3s enjoyed Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas.
Preschoolers enjoying Barkot and Markan’s joint birthday party!
Our Winter Concert for Preschool and Kindergarten will take place on December 13th in the gym. Our older grades will perform in the spring.
The Preschool 2s and 3s will go on at 3:00 pm
The Jr K and Kindergarten will perform at 4:00 pm.
Week one of the Scholastic Book Fair has come and gone! Thanks for your purchases–they mean books for our classrooms and library! The Book Fair ends the 14th, so be sure to stop by this week!
Please remember to include your child’s name and the purpose of your check on the memo line when you pay tuition or lunches! Thank you.
