January is International Month at PWA, when we celebrate the rich cultural diversity of our planet–and of our own school. Each classroom picks a country and learns about its history, traditions, and cultures throughout the month. Countries represented this year include Australia, Ethiopia, Liberia, India, Syria, Greece, and many more. These lessons culminate in International Day, when students turn their classrooms into their chosen country for the day, and then take a tour of the school to learn about each place, sample regional cuisines, and have their passports stamped. Our own PWA families also set up tables in the gym, to teach students about their own heritage and ancestry.
International Day will be held on Friday, January 26th, all day at the school. Parents and community members are invited to stop by and enjoy this delightful day with us!
