Dear PWA Families,
We had a delightful week here at school, and it flew by after the break of the Thanksgiving holiday! The students were ready to jump back into action, and they worked and played hard all week.
We’ll stay hard at work until our winter break begins on December 21st. We’ll be closed for school that week and the next, but open for child care if you would like to send your children. We’ll send along a signup sheet soon, and ask that you let us know your plans so we can be prepared here.
Winter weather isn’t in the forecast just yet…but it could be soon. By this time last year, we’d already had a snow day (though thankfully just the one). Below you’ll find information on how to sign up for our text message alert system, and if you haven’t yet done so, we hope you will–this is our first line of communication in the event of a weather-related school delay or closure.

Please be sure to sign up for our text message alert system by texting PWAED to 33222. You should receive a confirmation text when you’ve successfully enrolled.
We’ve successfully implemented our new pick-up routine, and have eliminated the shoe changing part of it for elementary students, in favor of keeping the students in their classrooms until dismissal. We do ask that students continue to wear their school shoes each day and that those shoes be reserved for school-wear only.
Please be sure to observe the pick-up times listed below.
Kindergarten: Pick-up between 3:15 and 3:30
3rd – 5th Grades: Pick-up between 3:30 and 3:45
1st and 2nd grades: Pick-up between 3:45 and 4:00
Preschool:
2s and 3s: Pick-up between 3:00 and 3:30
Jr K: Pick-up between 3:30 and 3:45
Our current lunch menu and lunch packets can always be found in the buttons at the end of each weekly email. The lunch menu is also directly below.
If you send your child to school with lunch, please remember that we are an entirely nut-free school.
