Weekly Family Email
November 20th, 2020
Week 14
Dear PWA Families,
We had a wonderful week here at school! The weather cooperated, for the most part, giving us lots of time outside enjoying the fresh air. Inside, students in several of our classes presented projects about Native American cultures, and you can see some of the impressive results below. They also made art, and had fun and exciting music and PE classes, along with their languages.
With cold weather approaching, please be sure to send your students to school with long sleeves and a sweater to wear in class, as well as a jacket appropriate to the weather outside. In the preschool, please be sure that any extra clothes you send are warm!
Thanksgiving is approaching, and we’ll be open for childcare but closed for school on Wednesday the 25th–if you’d like to send your child that day, please use the email link below to let us know so we can make arrangements. We will be closed entirely on the 26th and 27th, and we hope you all enjoy a relaxing break and some great food!
Picture day proofs went home with your students this week, and you can order them online using the information provided on the envelopes. If you prefer, you can return the envelope to us next week and we’ll send them out on Friday.
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and a delightful holiday next week!
Wednesday, November 25th will be a childcare-only day. Please let us know by emailing us at office@princewilliamacademy.com whether your child will attend that day.
Thanksgiving is almost here! Please remember that next week, we will be open Monday and Tuesday for regular school, and then on Wednesday the 25th for childcare only. We will be closed altogether on Thursday and Friday.
This year’s Thanksgiving will undoubtedly look different for all of us, and we implore our school families to maintain vigilance as they celebrate. If you travel, please make sure everyone is healthy with no symptoms of illness before returning to school. Please wear masks, sanitize hands frequently, and maintain social distance wherever you go.
Thank you in advance! It takes all of us doing our part to make sure our students stay safe and healthy, and our doors stay open!
Starting after Thanksgiving, we’ll be making some adjustments to our pick-up routine on the elementary side, in order to maximize distancing among students at the end of the day. Pick-up times per age group will be as follows, so please be sure you pick your student up within your scheduled window.
Kindergarten: Pick-up between 3:15 and 3:30
3rd – 5th Grades: Pick-up between 3:30 and 3:45
1st and 2nd grades: Pick-up between 3:45 and 4:00
Our current lunch menu and lunch packets can always be found in the buttons at the end of each weekly email. The lunch menu is also directly below.
If you send your child to school with lunch, please remember that we are an entirely nut-free school.
