Week 2
We’ve had a wonderful second week of school here, getting to know each other, and getting reacquainted with old friends. Classroom routines and schedules are taking shape, and students are diving into their work. They’re also getting lots of recreational time with PE and recess!
Next week will be a short one: we will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day. We hope all our PWA families enjoy their long weekend!
Below you’ll find a link to the school calendar for the 2019-2020 school year. This calendar is subject to change on occasion as we add dates in for events. So be sure to check it regularly!

Please remember to sign in and out each day if you bring your child in through the front door. If you require assistance or a code, please let us know.
After much diligence and many long phone calls made by Dr. Harris, VDOT has agreed to put a “Children Crossing” sign behind our school on Cotton Mill Dr. They called today to share the good news! We’ll hopefully see this new sign go in effect in the next couple of weeks. Next up–we’re lobbying for a sidewalk along the school side of Cotton Mill!
Dear Parents: Please be advised that we must have your child’s updated physical form within 30 days of their start at school. All physicals must be updated annually.
We must have immunization records when your child starts school.
All preschool parents must provide updated immunization forms as the immunizations take place. All children under two must have updated immunization forms every six months.
Please find the Virginia Health Form attached below, and contact the office if you have any questions about physicals or when they need to be done.

Did you know that we offer before and after school care for students who don’t attend PWA? We have bus service from Lake Ridge Elementary, and also provide AM drop off and PM pickup from Lake Ridge Middle; Antietam; Springwoods; and Old Bridge Elementary schools. We open at 6 am, and are here until 6:30 pm.
Please let the office know if you’re interested in learning more!
The September lunch menu can be found here (https://gallery.mailchimp.com/5cce73ca32dfe2648ffe00182/files/06c08fdd-9d78-40bd-9dbc-902908fce9bf/SEPTEMBER_2019_Menu.docx) , and the buttons at the end of this email, along with school lunch packet forms.
Parents are encouraged to purchase lunch packets rather than single lunches–the price per lunch drops when you buy more at a time. If you want to purchase daily lunch for your child, the total cost is $80 per month.
