Week 37
May 3rd, 2019
Spring is already starting to boil over into hotter weather! Our students spent lots of time outdoors this week, and will continue to do so as weather permits. They need the time to unwind from finishing up books and reviewing for end-of-year testing, which start in the next couple of weeks. Please ensure that your student brings a water bottle to school daily.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week across the country, and we look forward to celebrating the beating heart of our school–our teachers. Thanks to those of you who have signed up to participate in putting on our special events. We hope all parents will also feel free to provide a small token of appreciation directly to your child’s teachers.
Also, please note that this year’s Teacher Appreciation Week falls during the first week of Ramadan, which means that several of our teachers and staff members will be unable to partake of the food during the day. The PTC has provided special to-go boxes for them. But parents in these classrooms might want to consider alternative gifts as well next week.
Our Mother’s Day Tea will take place on Friday, May 10th for classes Jr K and above. The 2s and 3s classes will have light refreshments Please see below for times.
We have field trips coming up for 1st – 4th grades, so please stay tuned for more information from your classroom teachers.
We’d like to wish a very happy Ramadan to those of you who are preparing to celebrate!
Have a wonderful weekend, PWA families!
Please join us for our annual Mother’s Day Tea on Friday, May 10th. Our Elementary and Middle Tea will take place from 10 – 10:45 am, and our Preschool Tea will begin at 11. The students will have a brief musical performance prepared, and we’ll provide light refreshments. We look forward to honoring the amazing mothers of PWA!
Teacher Appreciation Week is almost here! Thanks a million to our PTC for organizing this week’s events, and to the parents who are contributing. We’ve left the sign-up sheet out front!

Enrollment for our Summer Program is now underway! Our students (grades Jr K – 8th) focus on math and language arts enrichment in the mornings, and terrific camp activities in the afternoon. The program includes field trips, swimming, Fantasy Park, putt-putt, bowling, and fun weekly themes. This year, we’ll also have an art camp available with our own Ms. Cox!
Registration materials, themes, and rates can be found in the buttons below.
Our new tuition software is in effect! On the laptop at the front desk, you’ll be able to view your invoice and pay with your card, or with an automatic bank withdrawal. You can also make payments online! Your account will update automatically to reflect your payment.
