This month’s featured staff member is Veronica Mannocia, our school chef. Veronica creates tasty, balanced meals for our students, and is the heart of our school lunch program. She has been with PWA for nearly 5 years now–long enough to establish a few favorite dishes among the students. Her Cheesy Scramble, a version of breakfast for lunch, is always a hit. She’s also known for mixing things up, serving everything from gnocchi to chicken teryaki.
Veronica attended the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, California, and then worked at The Park Casino in Lake Tahoe. She then switched gears and embarked upon a 28-year-long career in the sports industry. When she retired, she decided to return to her first love: cooking. She says she enjoys the creativity of working in the kitchen, coming up with new ideas to please small palates.
We are so grateful to have Veronica on our team. Thanks for feeding us, Veronica!
