Week 3

Dear PWA Families,

That's a wrap on the third week of school! This week was packed for all of us, with back-to-school nights on Tuesday and Thursday. We'd like to thank those of you who virtually visited your student's classroom--and we'd like to encourage those of you who weren't able to attend to reach out to your child's teacher anytime. We like to keep lines of communication open at PWA, and we're always happy to hear from you!

The students all seemed right at home this week, and have adapted to our shoe, mask, and hand-washing protocols. We're really proud of them for their efforts to abide by the rules and do their part to keep themselves and one another safe. We took lots of pictures this week--be sure to check them out below.

We will be closed on Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day. We hope you all enjoy the long weekend with your loved ones!

Thanks to all those who joined their children's teachers for our first-ever virtual back to school night. Our teachers enjoyed the opportunity to meet you and talk about their classrooms and the school year.

Dr. Plesa and Mrs. (soon-to-be-Dr.) Starr sharing their classrooms virtually with parents on Back-to-School night.

We'd like to thank the Leopold family for so generously donating their time, effort, and mulch to PWA! We sincerely appreciate their thoughtfulness.

On Tuesday, September 15th, we'll observe International Dot Day with our students. This day is meant to celebrate creativity and self-expression, and is inspired by a book, The Dot, by Peter H. Reynolds. Copies of this book can be found in our classrooms.

That Tuesday, students may wear dots (polka or otherwise) to school, and our fabulous art teacher Mrs. Cox will do related art projects with each class.

Our current lunch menu and lunch packets can always be found in the buttons at the end of each weekly email. The lunch menu is also directly below.

If you send your child to school with lunch, please remember that we are an entirely nut-free school.
