Week 38

We rolled out the red carpet this week for our superstar teachers and staff! Pictured above: Mrs. Starr (2nd grade) and Mr. Bannerman (5th- 8th grade math and science)
We had a spectacular week at PWA. Teacher Appreciation Week was delightful, and our teachers and staff felt the love. We are so grateful to all who brought in gifts, catered breakfasts and lunches, and gave donations for us to put towards a very special lunch for our teachers. We truly felt appreciated, and we are thankful for you!

Our teachers really do deserve celebrating. This has been a challenging year, and our COVID protocols remain in place. This means teachers are still going above and beyond to keep the students engaged while also keeping them safe. They’ve done an amazing job so far, and we’re truly proud of our PWA team.

Now that May is here, the remaining weeks of the school year will go by in a flash! We’ll begin our benchmark testing in the elementary school at the end of the month, and move on to practice SOLs for grades 3 and above. Our students will also take the Iowa Assessments in June. Teachers have already begun to review and reinforce as they wrap up their curricula in the classrooms.

Meanwhile, we’re working on making and preserving memories of this unprecedented school year. Our Kindergarten Graduation pictures will be taken next week. Also, we’re finalizing the school yearbook, and we’ll be sure to let you know how to get a copy when we have all the details.

Enrollment continues for the 2021-2022 school year, and for our Summer Enrichment Program. You can sign up for a week at a time during the summer, and our campers take math and language arts in the mornings, and do fun activities in the afternoons. Please be sure to contact Amanda Smyth (mailto:asmyth@princewilliamacademy.com?subject=Summer%20Enrichment%20Program) for more information!

Have a wonderful weekend, PWA families!

Wishing all of our PWA moms a very happy Mother’s Day!

Registration is underway for our summer camp! It starts May 31st for non-PWA students, and on June 21st for PWA students.

Our mission every year is to combat summer learning loss with morning academics that reinforce content from the school year and advance students towards their rising grade level. In the afternoons, we put on fun activities including water play in our sprinklers, sports, field trips (socially distanced) arts and crafts, and more.

Our current lunch menu and lunch packets can always be found in the buttons at the end of each weekly email. The lunch menu is also directly below.

If you send your child to school with lunch, please remember that we are an entirely nut-free school.
