Week 24

Mrs. Ajeroh’s tourists go sightseeing
We had a very fun week here at school, as we wrapped up International Month with spirit days. Students dressed as tacky tourists wore their pajamas to school and sampled food and music from the countries they studied. Our activities culminated in International Day today, and we were delighted to have so many parents join us via Zoom as the students shared some of what they learned. We managed to pull it off with only minor technical difficulties!

Special thanks to our amazing teachers, who really got into the spirit of International Month. Some shared their own heritage with the students, while others took on the challenge of learning about a culture they didn’t know much about before. It was wonderful to see them in action this month!

Report cards are coming next week. They should be available via Chalkable by Monday evening. If you haven’t signed into Chalkable before, you’ll find instructions below on how to retrieve your child’s report card. We provide progress reports for all students ages 2 and up.

It looks like winter is finally about to come knocking; several inches of snow are expected Sunday into Monday. Please stay tuned, and be sure to sign up for our text message alert system if you haven’t already (see below). This is our first line of communication for weather-related changes to our schedule. We also send emails from the office.

Have a wonderful weekend, PWA Families!
We have winter weather looming next week, with a few inches of snow possible by Monday. The easiest and fastest way for us to relay information about weather-related delays or closures is through our text message alert system. If you haven’t signed up yet, please do! Just text PWAED to 33222 to opt-in.

Mr. Bannerman will return part-time to teaching next week, and we look forward to having him back with us! In the meantime, we are still raising funds to assist his family.

It was lovely to see some of you today for our first ever International Day Zoom! International Month was different this year, but our teachers made it fun for the students, and we’re so glad we got to share some of the festivities with you today. Thanks for helping with costumes, decorations, and food all week. We hope the students enjoyed International Month!

If you haven’t yet logged into Chalkable, please email the office and let us know. We’ll send you login information. Report cards will be available starting Monday evening.

Our current lunch menu and lunch packets can always be found in the buttons at the end of each weekly email. The lunch menu is also directly below.

If you send your child to school with lunch, please remember that we are an entirely nut-free school.
